The Route

First of all, thank you all a lot for all your support and encouragement! It has immensely boosted our morale! :)

After the initial preparations for our machines and ourselves, of course we had to do a significant amount of research to ensure a smooth journey without any major hitches. So, we planned a tentative route and schedule for the next 20 days. Here goes:

Day 1: Leave from Mumbai. We have booked tickets in Swarjya Express (Bombay - Jammu Tavi) that leaves from Bandra Terminus at 7:50 am.
Day 2: Reach Jammu at 2:45 pm, unload bikes and prepare for the next day.
Day 3: Leave for Srinagar. Jammu-Srinagar: 293 km.
Day 4: Srinagar to Kargil: 200 km.
Day 5: Kargil to Leh: 220 km.
Day 6: Rest and acquire permissions to visit Khardungla and Nubra Valley.
Day 7: Leh to Nubra Valley (via Khardungla): 170 km.

Day 17: Hyderabad to Bangalore: 501 km.
Day 18: Banglore to Madurai: 345 km.
Day 19: Madurai to Kanyakumari: 213 km.
Day 20: Rest and travel around Kanyakumari.

Day 21: Kanyakumari to Nagercoil.
Day 22: Train from Nagercoil to Mumbai: Mumbai Express which leaves at 6:55 am.

This is just a tentative route. We might modify it along the way depending on various factors. We will keep things updated on here anyway. We have chosen to cover lesser distances up in the North than in the South because obviously, riding in the mountains will be more strenuous than riding down in the plains.

Hope all goes well! :)
